Why We Built This
We noticed that existing LinkedIn background tools were either outdated, cluttered with ads, or required sign-ups and subscriptions for something that should be simple. Many sites serve images at the wrong dimensions, leaving users to figure out cropping on their own. We wanted to build something better: a fast, clean, zero-friction tool that respects your time and delivers exactly what you need.
Every image in our gallery is filtered for the correct aspect ratio, ensuring it works perfectly as a LinkedIn banner without any awkward cropping. Our live preview feature shows you exactly how the image will look on your profile, including the safe zone where your profile photo overlaps — so you can make an informed choice before downloading.
Who We Are
LinkedIn Cover Photo is built and maintained by a small independent team passionate about developer tools and professional productivity. We believe that good design should be accessible to everyone, not locked behind paywalls or complicated software. This project is our contribution to helping professionals put their best foot forward online.
Technology
We built LinkedIn Cover Photo with performance and reliability in mind:
- Images — sourced from Unsplash, a community of talented photographers who share their work freely.
- Hosting — served globally via AWS CloudFront CDN for fast load times regardless of your location.
- Image processing — server-side resizing with Sharp ensures every download is pixel-perfect at 1584×396px.
- Frontend — lightweight static HTML with Tailwind CSS and Alpine.js. No heavy frameworks, no bloat.
- Backend — AWS Lambda serverless functions for image processing and API proxying. Scales automatically, costs only when used.
